Camping Trips Then and Now

December 2, 2009

down

In my younger years – let’s just call it the glory days – you could find me pitching a tent in the wilderness practically every weekend. The woods presented a much needed respite from the stresses of work and school. It was a place where my friends and I could fish for trout during the day and play competitive games of cards long into the night. In short, camping was a formative experience of my youth – one that shaped me into the relatively self-sufficient man I have become.

It’s with some hesitation that I admit I’m growing old now. Happily married and comparably less wild, I now manage to camp only once or twice a year. When I do, I make sure to bring along a few down sleeping bags to ease my sore back. As a teenager and into my college years I would have been fine sleeping on little more than a tarp with the stars in the sky serving as my blanket.

High Peck Sleeping Bags

December 2, 2009

x25158570High peak sleeping bags will give you temperature rateing suitable for the season you are camping in.If you are camping in the fall, spring, summer,or winter they will rate the sleeping bag you are buying. In a lot of cases you will buy a sleeping bag a little warmer because you can always open it to vent if you get a little warm. you will need to put a sleeping pad under neath it to keep the ground temperature out of the bag and to make it more comfortable. So look at the temperture rating when you buy a sleeping bag.
