Transportation

Mummy sleeping bags are meant to be packed into stuff sacks, which are usually supplied with the bag. Slide the main zipper of the bag about three-quarters open, then stuff it into the sack. If your bag is down sleeping bags, keep it away from liquids and protect it in a waterproof bag (or garbage bag in a pinch) if it rains.

Care of Your Sleeping Bag

Sleeping bags should be stored dry and loose, not in the stuff sack. They also need to be washed periodically, preferably by hand, with mild soap or specially formulated sleeping bag wash. Help keep the bag clean on the outside by using a clean pad, and on the inside by wearing extra layers to bed or by using a sleeping bag liner. Note that both of these options will add to the warmth rating of the bag.

31eFTaQI0bL._SL210_When you’re camping, one object you should certainly carry with you is a sleeping bag. No matter where you might be going, whether it’s in the forest or up the mountain, you should ensure that you have a sleeping bag with you. Sleeping bags are not only providers of comfort, they serve a much more crucial purpose, and this is to give insulation. You’ll be shocked at how cold it can get during the night when you’re in the wild. Warmth becomes a very important commodity. And a sleeping bag with nice insulation may just become your best friend during the cold evenings. But there are two types of sleeping bags to pick from, one is the down sleeping bag and the other one has synthetic filling. These are the insulation they put in the sleeping bag. So look for the best insulation that keeps warm during cold night.

My daughter loves this set — and we love that she now sleeps in her own room. She was so excited about the tent and sleeping bag that she even suggested that she could sleep in it in her room. THANK YOU DISNEY PRINCESSES! It’s good quality, and we use the tent as a playhouse in our living room on rainy days. It’s cheaper than buying one of those big playhouses, and more fun because it’s only out some of the time. So look for your children s sleeping sleeping bags.

Coleman Kids Explorer Sleeping Bag

Introduce your kids to the great outdoors and ensure their warmth and comfort with the Coleman Explorer mummy-style sleeping bag, which is rated to 25 degrees for three-season outdoor camping. Measuring 30 by 66 inches, this bag fits kids up to 5 feet, 2 inches tall. This gray bag also includes a unique bright yellow interior that glows in the dark with star constellations.

Coleman’s ZipPlow feature prevents zipper snags by plowing fabric away from zipper.

Two layers of insulation with offset quilt lines eliminate potential cold spots. This bag is filled with 28 ounces of Coletherm insulation, exclusive to Coleman, which is a hollow-core fiber, allowing for greater loft (a measure of the amount of space the insulation occupies and the amount of air the insulation can trap). The hollow-core fibers create pockets of air that serve as an extra barrier between the sleeper and the environment, maximizing thermal efficiency.

The sculpted hood surrounds the head to retain warmth, and a 3-inch insulated draft tube runs the length of the zipper to keep out chilly drafts. A trapezoid-contoured foot box gives feet more wiggle room. Other features include a durable polyester cover and liner, included stuff sack, and a two-way ZipPlow zipper that plows fabric away from zipper to prevent snags (and glows in the dark). This sleeping bag is machine washable. This will be a great kids sleeping bag for camping.

High Peak EZ Pak 1000

October 27, 2009

High Peak EZ Pak 1000 Sleeping BagQuality, compact & easy5
I ordered one of these because it looked to be about the smallest I could find (when compressed, of course). I didn’t have to begin using it to tell that the materials and design were quality enough and that I got my money’s worth.

The bag stuffs surprisingly easy into the compresion sack, enough not to require instructions telling you to roll it up and shove it in. However, the measurements on the High Peak website and some others will tell you this one is 10″ x 6″ compressed, when it is actually 12″ x 7″ upon arrival. Not a huge difference; it’s still small enough to easily fit inside a regular-sized daypack. High Peak Sleeping Bags.

Sleeping Bags For Warmth

October 26, 2009

41bYHDwB+fL._SL210_

Warmth
If you will be sleeping outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures, a mummy bag is often superior. When mummy sleeping bags are fully closed they typically leave only one’s nose and mouth exposed, thereby trapping air inside which acts as an effective insulator. Mummy bags also conform to the body’s contours which reduces the amount of heat the body must generate to maintain a constant temperature. (Mummy bags can also often be used in much warmer temperatures without being too hot.)

Most rectangular bags are best suited for temperatures above freezing, but some are capable of keeping you warm as much as ten degrees below freezing.Marmot sleeping bags make a lot of good mummy sleeping bags. So look for a sleeping bag that will keep you warm.
