September 24, 2009

When choosing a sleeping bag there are things to consider is the fill. There are two types of downfill down and synthies.  The down sleeping bag by many are superior. They povide the best insulation least weight and soft and comfortable.

A advantage to down sleeping bags over synthetic fiber are they provide more insulation and light weight. The warmth wieght ratio is important when backpacking or carrying camping supplies and down are comfortable.

One disadvantage is that down have to be hand washed or put in a front load washer. They have to be handle with care. Another disadvantage to down if they get wet it takes longer to dry. You can add a water resistant shell to down fill sleeping bags.

Down sleeping bags use real down feathers for fill. There are hi-loft down, duck down and goose down. The hi-loft down is made out of finer goose down and has more warmth and is for cold weather.

Goose down sleeping bags is higher quality than duck and more expensive but for regular camping both are good choices. 1358676523470f3fb9d9afd
